Well, here we are. After a long day of traveling, we are sitting in the airport waiting to board our Qantas flight that will get us to the land down under.

We've had a fairly uneventful day of traveling, and everything has gone pretty much as it should. We stopped in Lawrence on the way to Kansas City to pickup a guitar was having repaired specifically to take on this trip. The guitar was ready, and we were able to pick it up, then make it to the airport just in time to have a cold beer before we boarded the nonstop flight to LA.

For some reason, it is unseasonably cold here in LA, but that's good because we had the longest possible walk at LAX to get from the Southwest to the Qantas terminal. Unfortunately, we found out at the checkin counter that we won't be sitting next to each other on the plane. I guess that means we'll all be watching The Curious Case of Benjamin Button in different rows.

None of us are looking forward to the 12 hour flight or however long the flight to Auckland then Brisbane is, but I'm positive it will be totally worth it. I've had a large grin on my face ever since we got in the air towards LA. I still have no idea why it has taken me so long to get back to the land of Oz, but I'm sure it won't take me nearly as long to get back next time.

We'll be boarding in about an hour, and all I can think about is the tasty Victoria Bitter I'll be drinking as soon as we board the plane.
